SJB Planning was engaged by Coventry Street Development Nominees Pty Ltd to procure a planning permit for a 21 level residential building on this prominent, mixed-use, corner site in Southbank, designed by SJB Architects. Permission was also gained for the ground floor uses which included a licenced outdoor bar and restaurant for 133 patrons and a shop.

The project generated wind and glass reflectivity issues and SJB Planning worked with specialists in these areas as well as a range of other consultants to address the issues raised by the Department of Transport, Planning and Local Infrastructure (DTPLI) as Responsible Authority. The application attracted some local objections and SJB worked closely with DTPLI and the objectors to address residents’ concerns and avoid the need for the application to go to VCAT.
