Scape LachlanKensington NSW Australia
Scape Lachlan will mount the corner block of Todman Square along the K2K corridor on Anzac Parade and contribute to the future transformation of Kensington.
Our vision is that this mixed program will become the heart of Todman Square, a generous precinct that establishes a precedent for active retail along Anzac Parade with outdoor seating and level thresholds – offering an opportunity to escape traffic, to sit in the sun and be stimulated by greenery, art and pedestrian activity.
The site comprises a purpose-built student accommodation offering and a new type of urban-dwelling – City Living - developed for a generation of young workers who are looking for affordable accommodation close to their employment, without the overheads of a traditional apartment.
The ground floor is a food and beverage destination intersected with public thoroughfares and an Innovation Space designed to allow Council and nearby tertiary institutions to connect with and advance the next generation of workers.
Concrete frames, blackened steel piloti and a variety of face brickwork comprise hardwearing elements for a hardworking public domain. Streetscapes are reinforced with water sensitive urban design accompanied by boulevard treatments, encouraging students to enjoy active study, socialise and connect, and creating a strong sense of place.
