The Fantauzzo wins top award for Commercial Architecture at the AIA's QLD Architecture Awards 2020

July 2020

We are thrilled to announce that The Fantauzzo has received The Beatrice Hutton Award for Commercial Architecture at this year's Australian Institute of Architects' Queensland Chapter.

The jury awarded more than 20 projects across 14 categories, including residential, commercial, sustainable, interior architecture and urban design.

On the accolade, director of architecture Tristan Wong said, "This award truly reflects the incredible work of the entire SJB team and the commitment to our client for a very bold and unique design response. This project is highly layered, from how it resolves its functional requirements within the many contextual constraints, to the way it mediates its connection to both the Story Bridge, adjacent heritage buildings and the striking cliff face only metres away.”

The project will now be considered for the Australian Institute of Architects' National Awards to be announced later this year.
