National Architecture Awards Shortlist

September 2017

The AIA recently announced the shortlist for the 2017 National Architecture Awards finalists and we are thrilled to have 100 Harris Street shortlisted in the Heritage category.

Located in Pyrmont, 100 Harris Street is an original wool store building with ornate mass brick façades and robust hardwood timber internal construction. Built in the 1890s and added to first in the 1910’s and subsequently in the 1920’s this building represents Sydney’s successful pastoral period when Australia was dependant on wool for its wealth.

The project brief was to reimagine the building as an active and dynamic office space, to incorporate new vertical transportation and emergency egress and to incorporate an atrium which would deliver light deep into the massive 4500 sqm footprint.

The winners of the 2017 National Architecture Awards will be announced at Albert Hall in Canberra on 2 November.
