Senior Interior Designer

SJB Architects, Sydney

We deliver integrated architecture and interiors across a broad range of project typologies - retail, residential, hotel, boutique and commercial. We are seeking someone with an architectural or interiors background and an interest in pursuing a career in design-led architectural interiors.

You will join a small but dynamic interiors team and work across the wider studio on all project typologies. Typical tasks will include:

  • Involvement in all stages of the design process
  • Design documentation
  • Selecting and scheduling FF&E
  • Liaison with suppliers
  • Preparation of presentations.


There are a few things that are 'must-haves', so please ensure you articulate these clearly in your application:

  • 5-7 years post graduate experience (architecture or interior design degree)
  • Experience documenting significant projects
  • Ability to understand and deliver design intent
  • Ability to work independently to deliver projects under direction of senior designers and architects
  • High level of proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
  • InDesign and Photoshop.


This role will suit someone who is driven, self-motivated and willing to take on a challenge.

Senior Architect – Large scale multi-unit residential

SJB Architects, Sydney

We work with Australia's most prominent residential developers and top-tier builders at the cutting edge of innovation and constructability.

We are looking for self-directed Senior Architects who can work at the frontline of some of Sydney's most significant high-rise multi-unit residential projects.

In this role you will:

  • Be responsible for managing all stakeholders associated with the project - the project team, client, builder and other consultants
  • Oversee delivery of architectural documentation packages through design development, tender and construction phases 
  • Programme the scope of services and provide regular advice on project performance
  • Meet on site regularly with the head contractor to review the built works and report on consistency with design intent
  • Enter into discussion on matters of constructability with key personnel including client representatives
  • Manage multiple stakeholders to deliver built outcomes. 


Relevant experience and interest:

  • You will have a sound understanding of and interest in the commerciality of large-scale multi-unit residential projects
  • You will be able to demonstrate a track record of managing multiple stakeholders on large and complex projects
  • You will be a passionate advocate for design
  • Ideally you will have Australian experience in large-scale residential projects.

Salary Range - $65,000 - $75,000 pa + superannuation

Skills and experience required

SJB Architects, Melbourne studio is seeking an experienced Architectural Draftsperson with advanced Revit skills.

  • You will have a minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience
  • You possess a sound understanding of and interest in the technical documentation of both boutique and large-scale multi-unit residential projects
  • You will be able to demonstrate a track record of working in teams of different sizes, providing technical support to Project Architects, Associates and Directors.
  • You will have advanced Revit knowledge and be keen to be an advocate for SJB Architects' BIM implementation plan and our studio's Revit advancement and look for ways to share your knowledge with our team
  • You can show that you will be able to enter into discussions on matters of constructability with key personnel, both within our studio and within the wider project team
  • You will be a passionate advocate for design
  • Ideally you will have Australian experience in large-scale residential projects.
