Pavilion Street

Queenscliff NSW Australia

Located in the northern most headland of Manly Beach in Queenscliff, this project was a unique opportunity to provide six luxurious apartments with exceptional amenity. Tired and riddled with concrete cancer, the existing residential building consisted of 12 apartments, 2 per floor over six levels and could not be salvaged. The challenge was, however, to maintain the new design within the existing building envelope with several internal height limits requiring careful consideration to achieve the right balance for luxury beachside living.

The six apartments, identical in layout, have a continuous band of glazing that wraps the entire apartment providing uninterrupted views to Freshwater Beach, the South Pacific Ocean and distant views of Sydney city, connecting the individual to the prolific beach culture and surrounding suburbs.

The locally sourced bricks, warm zinc and exposed concrete tie back to the surrounding built fabric as well as the sandstone cliffs below which stand as a natural pedestal for this luxurious building.
